Easy Autumn Hedgehog Craft Template
The «Hedgehog» fall craft template helps children learn to hold a pencil correctly, use scissors safely, and learn how to glue. The fall theme gets children interested in the natural world around them. It turns the activity into a creative game where they make their own autumn craft.
This fall craft template for young children has two pages that are designed for printing in black and white. The first page shows the hedgehog's body outline and a separate outline of its spiky back, with a marked glue area. The second page has an extra layer of hedgehog spines, as well as small fall elements like apples, acorns, and leaves. The instructions show how all the pieces come together to form a hedgehog carrying the fall harvest on its back.

Print out the template for the autumn hedgehog craft on thick paper. The first sheet shows the hedgehog's body and the first piece with quills. The second sheet includes extra quills and fall-themed elements, such as leaves of different shapes, apples, and acorns.

Using paints, markers, or pencils, color the hedgehog’s body bright orange or yellow. Color the area with quills dark brown. Please note: Leave the areas marked «GLUE» on the hedgehog's back and the spiky part white: these are the spots where you need to apply glue.

Color the rest of the elements on the second sheet. Color the middle layer of quills brown and the smallest layer light orange. Use autumn colors like red, yellow, green, and brown to paint the other elements, like leaves, apples, and acorns.

Using scissors, carefully cut out the pieces along the outer edges. These include the hedgehog's body, three layers of quills of different sizes with white areas marked as «GLUE,» autumn leaves, apples, and acorns.

Put glue on the marked white part of the hedgehog's back. Then, glue the largest dark brown quill piece, aligning it with the back's outline.

Put glue on the marked white area of the medium-sized quills piece. Then, glue it to make a three-dimensional, multi-layered structure.

Glue the last piece of the quill. Then, glue the cut-out leaves, apples, and acorns onto the hedgehog's back in any order. You can either insert them between the quill layers or glue them on top.

The colorful, 3D craft project, «Autumn Hedgehog with Harvest,» is finished! The craft has a 3D effect, thanks to three layers of quills and decorative elements.
