Preschool 2D Shapes Sorting Activity
This shapes-matching activity is designed to develop spatial thinking, logic, and the ability to classify objects. The objective is to sort objects based on their geometric shape.
Print the sorting shapes game sheets and cut out the shapes at the bottom of each sheet. Lay out the large sorting mats with fun characters in front of your child. Have your child take one cut-out card, examine its outline carefully (recognizing, for example, that a button is a circle and an aquarium is a rectangle), and place it in an empty cell under the corresponding geometric shape. Then, ask your child to name other examples of 2D shapes in everyday life.
