Watermelon Counting Game: Draw the Seeds

The math game «Watermelon» is designed to help children practice counting and matching numbers to quantities while developing their fine motor skills. The watermelon theme creates a relaxed, summertime atmosphere when teaching preschoolers.

Print these free watermelon worksheets from our website. Each card shows a slice of watermelon with a number in the top left corner. Children identify the number and draw the corresponding number of black seeds on the red watermelon flesh with a pencil or marker. For an interactive sensory activity, children can use black modeling clay instead of drawing.

This set of printable Count and Draw worksheets also includes a black-and-white version. Before drawing the seeds, children must color the watermelon slices red and green.

You can also use additional sheets without numbers to increase the difficulty of the activities. Parents or teachers can write numbers in the empty circles to practice counting to 20 or 30, for example. Thanks to the lamination, the cards can be turned into reusable «write-and-erase» learning tools.
