Watermelon Counting to 10 Math Cards

The Watermelon Math Flashcards are educational materials designed to help children develop counting skills up to ten, learn to match quantities to numbers, and prepare their hands for writing. Children count the watermelon slices, trace the corresponding number along the dotted lines with a pencil, then color in the appropriate number of squares in the table below to record the result.

Print out these summer-themed counting worksheets to help children ages 5–6 reinforce their counting skills up to ten. You can leave the pages whole or cut them into individual cards for convenience. The cards feature several tasks for children to complete:

• count the watermelon slices at the top right,
• trace the numbers along the dotted line,
• color the corresponding number of squares in a blank table below.

To improve children’s fine motor skills, replace coloring the squares with a tactile activity. For example, you could invite your child to pinch off small pieces of modeling clay, roll them into balls, and press them into the empty cells of the table.
