Watermelon Puzzle Matching Activity
The «Watermelon Puzzle» worksheets are designed to develop visual perception, analytical thinking, and an understanding of the «parts to the whole» concept. In this activity, children match geometric parts of a watermelon to each illustration.
Print out these «Find the Missing Part» worksheets for children ages three and up. First, they should look closely at the watermelon and examine the shape of the white spot inside it. Then, they should find the matching part on the right. To indicate the answer, draw a line between the watermelon with the white spot on the left and its matching part on the right.
Use storytelling techniques to engage your child emotionally. For example, you could tell your child a story about how these watermelons grew in a magical garden. At night, little animals (or geometric caterpillars) snuck in and took a bite out of each fruit. Your child's task is to play detective and figure out the solution.
