Real Life Objects 2D Shapes Sorting Activity
This educational game involves sorting geometric shapes based on real-life photographs. It helps preschool-aged children develop spatial thinking and analytical skills. The objective is to identify shapes in photos and arrange them on the game board.
Print the game and cut out all the photos on the separate page. The game includes six groups for sorting shapes, with four photos in each group. The sorting game board features gray silhouettes of six basic two-dimensional shapes: a square, a circle, a triangle, an oval, a rectangle, and a hexagon. The cards show photos of everyday objects. You'll find a round pizza, a square pillow, a rectangular brick, a triangular slice of watermelon, an oval mirror, and many other familiar objects. Children will learn to analyze the outlines of familiar objects and recognize their shapes independently of their color, texture, or purpose. This is an important step in developing visual perception and logical thinking skills.
