Summer Learning Activity: Match the Shapes Ice Cream

Designed for summer learning activities, the shape-matching game «Ice Cream» helps children learn geometric shapes, develop fine motor skills, and improve cognitive thinking abilities. Players match and arrange geometric shapes into cells on game sheets featuring ice cream cones.

Print the shape recognition activity sheets and cut out the colored shapes on a separate page. We recommend using a laminator and Velcro. Children must find a match for each ice cream cone by selecting the correct colored shape. The game features a total of 20 different shapes and forms.

This game covers a wide variety of shapes. In addition to basic geometric shapes, such as circles, squares, and triangles, there are more complex shapes, such as crosses, arrows, semicircles, drops, stars, and hearts. This variety helps children develop visual perception and teaches them to notice nuances in lines and angles. It also enriches their vocabulary as they learn the names of each shape and its color.
