Fall Leaves Pattern Matching Activity

The educational game «Fall Leaves» helps children develop their visual perception, attention, logical thinking, and hand-eye coordination. The fall-themed worksheets have children matching leaves based on their patterns and placing the cards in the empty cells.

Print these visual discrimination PDF worksheets, and then cut out the eight cards with leaves on each page. Children need to carefully examine the pattern on the left side of any rectangle on the game board. They must look at the colors, shapes, and how the elements are arranged. Then, they must find a leaf card that matches the pattern exactly. By matching identical background and leaf textures, children practice concentration and learn to notice slight differences between similar patterns.

To use it more than once, cover all the pages with laminate before cutting out the pieces. Attach Velcro to the center of the empty cells and to the back of the cut-out leaves. This will create a tactile game that can be used in a variety of activities with children.
