These line-tracing worksheets help toddlers develop graphomotor skills, attentiveness, and accuracy when completing prewriting tasks. The task is to trace the line and then draw the same line on the right. This activity is an important step in preparing for writing.
Print out the writing practice worksheets. For the first lessons with young children, you can use a laminator and marker. At first, complete the task slowly and discuss each step with the child.
- Carefully examine the line on the left, which passes through many points.
- Find the beginning of the line at the top and trace it with your finger.
- Then, take a pencil or marker and trace the same line on the right. Try not to lift the pencil from the paper.
- With each new worksheet, try to draw the line faster. Use a stopwatch to set new records every day.
