The color-matching game Snail Shell is effective for the early cognitive development of children. In the game, children place colored circles on the snail according to a given pattern.

Print out the color recognition worksheets for children ages two to four, and prepare the game elements. Cut out the colored circles and choose a card with a color pattern. If desired, use a laminator and Velcro. The game board shows a smiling snail with a large shell that has seven white cells for placing colored circles. Have your student match the cells on the game sheet with the pattern card, placing the colored circles in the same order.
