Summer Count and Graph Activity: Numbers 1 to 10

These «Summer Objects» math worksheets will help children reinforce their counting skills up to 10, develop their attention span, and improve their fine motor skills. The task is to count the number of objects on each page.

Print out the summer-themed Count and Graph worksheets and start counting. The sheets feature various summer and beach items: T-shirts, cocktails, sand buckets, anchors, ice cream, and flip-flops. The main sheet features a graphic table. The child's task is to select a category of objects, carefully find and count all such objects on the search sheet, and then fill in the corresponding column in the table, marking the cells with ticks.

This activity is great for helping preschoolers develop their minds. First, looking for small icons among many others is good for training visual scanning, visual attention, and the ability to filter out visual noise. Second, putting quantitative data into a grid helps kids learn the basics of infographics and information processing. They can clearly see which items on the sheet are most numerous and which are least numerous.
