The Shape Rotation game helps preschoolers develop spatial thinking, attention, and logic. This simple and engaging activity asks the child to rotate the shapes according to the arrow.

You can use the free printable worksheets for lessons with children ages 3-6. The Spatial Awareness activity can be played in several ways:

  1. The first sheet, with black and white outlines of the figures, is used to draw the figures after rotation. The child should imagine what the figure will look like after the rotation and then color the empty areas with the appropriate colors: red, green, blue, and yellow. The hint can be found on the last page of the file.
  2. The second page of the file is used as a game board, where the game cards are placed. Cut out the colored shapes from the third page of the template and have the student arrange them on the game board. An arrow means a 90-degree rotation of the figure. The preschooler should rotate the cards and fill in the chart.
