Summer Photo Matching

This photo matching game is designed to help preschoolers develop visual perception, attention, and the ability to match objects based on their shape, structure, and composition. Working with black-and-white images helps children recognize objects based on characteristics other than color. It is a great challenge for visual memory and logical thinking. The game also improves visual discrimination, which is a key skill for learning to read.
Print out the worksheets and cut out the game cards. There are three groups of cards in the set: color cards, black-and-white cards, and color-blurred cards, all showing signs of summer. The student's task is to find matching images and arrange all the cards into groups of two or three. To develop speaking skills, discuss with the student what each picture shows.
