Block Shapes Matching Game

The «Colored Blocks» educational activity is designed to help children ages two and up develop visual perception, logical thinking, and concentration skills. This printable material teaches young children to analyze and compare non-standard shapes, as well as find objects that are exactly the same among many similar ones.

Print out these logic puzzles and start matching identical colored shapes. Each worksheet features shapes made up of small squares. The colored blocks resemble pieces from the well-known game Tetris: there are straight lines, angles, zigzags, crosses, and other shapes. On the left and right sides of the sheet are sets of the same shapes mixed up.

First, have your child choose a shape from the left. Then, have them carefully examine its color and shape. Finally, have them find its exact match on the opposite side of the sheet. Once they find the correct pair, they should trace a line from one shape to the other with a finger or marker. This educational activity stimulates the mind and serves as graphomotor practice, preparing the hand for writing.
